BRC Don Amador Heads to Congress to Testify (again)

POCATELLO, ID (June 20) — Don Amador, Western Representative for the BlueRibbon Coalition, has been confirmed as a witness to testify before the House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands on June 22, 2011 at 10 a.m. The hearing will be at the 1324 Longworth House Office Building. Amador is expected to share his views regarding the ongoing closure of BLM's Clear Creek Management Area CCMA) located in Central California's Coastal Mountain Range. Eldorado Lawsuit Gives Us Bragging Rights

SACRAMENTO, CA (May 31)—A national trail-based recreation group and state off-highway vehicle organizations are applauding a recent legal ruling involving the Eldorado National Forest. The ruling comes in the latest of preservationist lawsuits spanning several decades.
Senior U.S. District Judge Lawrence K. Karlton issued his ruling on May 26, 2011, that largely upholds the Eldorado travel management decision, but finds the Forest Service violated the Endangered Species Act and certain Forest Plan standards in authorizing access through a handful of meadows and failing to more thoroughly consider ephemeral streams.
