Service takes many forms, but some experiences stay with us for a lifetime.
This page is a collection of my stories, memories, observations and occasional opinions about military service, veterans, patriotism, remembrance and the people who have worn the uniform.
You'll also find selected stories about firefighters, law enforcement officers and other first responders — people whose lives and work share many of the same threads of service, sacrifice, duty, camaraderie and commitment to others.
Some stories will be serious. Some will bring back good memories. A few may even bring a smile. All are shared with respect for those who stepped forward to serve.
