OUTDOOR HEALING; CLEANING UP THE MENTAL CLUTTER

GETTING YOUR MIND RIGHT: THE HEALING POWER OF THE OUTDOORS

By Del Albright

When life gets messy—when your mind is cluttered, sleep doesn’t come easily, and distractions pull you away from what matters—it’s time to hit the reset button. For me, that reset button is simple: get outside.

We all wrestle with the chaos of today’s world. But here’s the deal: don’t let that mess steal more of your peace than it already has. Take care of yourself. Take care of your mind. Take care of your health. The causes we care about, the fights we choose—whether for access, community, or conservation—depend on us staying sharp, clear-headed, and well.

Mental clarity and inner peace aren’t luxuries—they’re essentials. And too often, I see folks so tied up in stress that they can’t enjoy the very things they’re passionate about. That’s where the outdoors comes in.

Maybe you just need a walk. Or some fresh air. Or time in the garden, trimming trees, mowing the lawn, casting a line into the water, or hiking a trail. It doesn’t matter what you do—just get outside and do something. The sunshine, the breeze, the dirt on your hands—it all helps.

I’ve learned that getting outside gets your mind right.
It centers you. It heals you. It reminds you what really matters.

For me, that peace, that clarity, always starts under the open sky.

See you out there,
Del

FISHING FOR A RE-CREATED SPIRIT

LAKE TIME; BREAK TIME; REFRESHING LIFE

GET OUTSIDE, DO SOMETHING, STAY ALIVE

By Del Albright

Just being outside, no matter what you are doing, can sometimes be the answer to your prayers! Fresh air, sunshine, and lollipops  -- whatever you find, the act of being outside can breathe new life into yours.

In my case, I love to go fishing and boating. Open-air, views of the sky, and the lolling of a boat will do wonders for my nap time, too.

The wifey finds relief from stress the same way, but also just loves to tend to her garden.  Find your sweet spot and do the same.  Get your spirit re-created by being outside when you can.

Caught this Black Crappie while bass fishing.

This is Josh Parris, my bass fishing buddy, and teacher for a recent trip.  Great guy.

GET OUTSIDE; STAY SAFE; BE ALIVE

🌄 TIME TO GET BACK OUTSIDE: RECONNECT WITH NATURE AND SUNSHINE

By Del Albright | Photo: Del Albright

Is it time to get back to the outdoors? You bet it is.
The great outdoors are calling — and it’s high time we answered. Whether you’re into trail rides, mountain hikes, backcountry camping, or just soaking up sunshine on a dirt road, getting outside is good for the soul and even better for your health.

After a long stretch of stay-at-home life, restrictions, and digital overload, nothing resets the mind like a trip to the high country.

💪 Boost Your Health Outdoors

Gyms are reopening, routines are shifting back to “normal,” and many of us are ready to shake off the cabin fever. But some of the best fitness you’ll ever get is found on the trail, not the treadmill.

  • Breathe fresh alpine air

  • Feel the sun on your face

  • Let your Jeep or hiking boots carry you to peace and perspective

🚙 Find Your “Wherever” Country

As for me? I’m pointing my Jeep toward the high country. Maybe the forest. Maybe the backroads. Maybe somewhere I’ve never been. That’s the beauty of outdoor recreation — freedom to roam, explore, and recharge.

Wherever you go, go smart and go safe. Respect nature, follow local guidelines, and leave it better than you found it. Humans thrive on sunshine — and a little mud on the tires.

🌞 Ready to Get Back Outside?

Don’t wait. Reconnect with your favorite trails, backroads, fishing holes, or fire rings. Whether you're overlanding, hiking, or just soaking it in — nature is the original therapy.

See you out there,

DO IT OUTSIDE

GET OUTSIDE AND RE-CREATE YOURSELF

And Do the Right Thing

By Del Albright

Summer time is get outside time, and that also means being thankful for the freedoms we have in this great country.  I try to never take anything for granted; especially time I get to spend outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, taking pictures, hiking, biking, or just sitting on something besides my desk chair looking at something besides my computer screen or mobile device.

Teach your kids the same values.  They are the future.  And be SURE to join and support those groups and organizations that help keep your hobby alive and well, like BlueRibbon Coalition in my case, along with your state and regional associations.

NEED A HANKIE? REMEMBER WHEN EVERY MAN HAD ONE?

A Handkerchief in Every Man's Pocket I had one of those random childhood memories pop into my head the other day. Handkerchiefs. Hankies...
