"PISTOL" Pete Sohren Joins BlueRibbon in Saving Trails

"PISTOL" Pete Sohren, famous Baja racing Super Star, joined BlueRibbon Coalition and is helping us grow the organization, save our trails and keep our sports alive. "PISTOL" is BlueRibbon with his kids and family when he's not spanking the bumps in Baja. He knows how important it is that we ALL join our land use organizations, starting with the BlueRibbon Coalition. Read the whole story and learn more on my webiste at http://www.delalbright.com/Access/brc_pistol_pete.html . Del

JK Summerfest, June 27th, Lake Irvine, CA

This weekend the first (annual) JK Summerfest is happening at Irvine Lake, southern CA, Irvine area. It promises to be an awesome event for 4x4 folks. 11am to 7pm Saturday, June 27th. Stacie and I plan to be there representing BlueRibbon Coalition, being around to talk land use and access, and how we can all save our trails and our sport. With over 40 vendors on scene, this should be an awesome day. Check it out: http://www.gotjk.com/events.html

Safari Straps Supports BlueRibbon Coalition

It's always such a pleasure to let folks know when a business is following through with their commitment to land use and access. Safari Straps is one of those stellar businesses, in my book. They have been donating 10% of their sales to BlueRibbon Coalition these past couple months and WOW, it's awesome. It's really helping BRC save our trails. BRC has seen righteous donations from Safari Straps from the Jeep Beach event in Florida with the Mid Florida Jeep Club, the Big Bear Forest Fest (with the Inland Empire 4Wheelers), and coming up with the JK Summerfest in Irvine, CA, with the http://www.gotjk.com/ folks they have donated another set of Safari Straps worth $355 to help raise money (not to mention awareness) for BRC. AWESOME. Thank you Safari Straps for all you do, and for your great product. Stacie and I run Safari Strap products on our Jeep TJ and we can attest to their usefulness, durability and quality. Reno, NV, Cameras and Photography

While at Reno Rocks 4x4 this past weekend, I had minor camera issues, needed some photo supplies (and had cameras that needed serious cleaning, right now). I found a couple places worth putting in your notebook of places to get good service. For supplies and cameras, try Gordon's Photo Service (in Reno and Carson City): http://www.gordonsphotoservice.com/index.html If you need camera cleaning and service, Steve Sweringen owns and operates the Camera Clinic and he took care of three of my units, on the spot, with excellent service (and some helpful advice as well): www.cameraclinic-usa.com When I find businesses that do what they say they do, take care of customers and offer a fair price, I like to make mention of them in order to help you make better choices on where you spend your money. Reno Rocks 4x4 Day 3

The teams are kickin' it and the action is non-stop here at Reno Rocks 4x4 at the Sands Regency. But to top it off, our great friends, Todd and Larisa decided to get MARRIED here at the event. So down it went, right here in the Sands Chapel. It was fun. Stac and I got to be the witnesses, best man, bride's maid, and photographer. :) Way cute. See pics of Day three, including Todd and Larisa Ockert getting hitched right here: http://www.sendpix.com/albums/09062016/hgg3d6mhcg/?p=1 Del

Border to Border Thanks and Notes

While I have a good internet connection, during this awesome Reno Rocks event, I wanted to take a minute to thank a few folks who are helping make the border to border trip possible. That is where I was before I hit Reno for this event. Of course, Jeep and Mopar are on top of the list as Chris borrowed the Jeep Overland right from the Mopar boys. ARB, Viking Off road, WARN, BFGoodrich Tires, American Expedition Vehicles, JeepCamping.com, AdventureTrak (SPOT), 4x4Wire.com (John Stewart), EQUIPT Expedition Outfitters, and Expedition One chimed in to make this trip a real adventure. The SPOT from AdventureTrak ( http://www.adventuretrak.com/ ) was a life-line for us and still is for Chris. You can see the continuous track of his route north on the SPOT map. Jeff and Don Emde at AdventureTrak really helped make this a safe trip for us. JeepCamping.com loaded us up with great Coleman camping gear and some gas money to boot. John Stewart from 4x4Wire.com gave us gas money and hours of map a...

Reno Rocks 4x4 Day 2

Wow, this place is amazing. There is a lot going on, the drivers are wild in the WE ROCK course, and the fun is non-stop. The folks at the Sands Regency are going out of their way to make this historic event a real breath-taking, laugh out loud, fun time. Not to mention the great security they are providing and the helpful staff. WE ROCK live radio is here doing the broadcast thing. TV cameras are all over the course, and the drivers are raving about how fun this rock course is. Get here if you can. The fun is just starting. Border to Border All Dirt Roads Jeep Trip Underway Now

Follow Chris Collard and I on our border to border, Mexico to Canada, jeep camping trip in a prototype Jeep Overland -- dirt camping, living off of bugs and slugs, doing the man Jeeper Survivor thing. (well, maybe I'm exaggerating on the bugs part).
