RENO EXPO TRAIL RIDE A SUCCESS!

RENO EXPO WITH OFF-ROAD TRAIL RIDE The 2012 Reno Expo (Off Road, ATV, Home and Garden, Pets, Boats and more) is underway in Reno, NV right now from our friend, Al Lockett (Lockett Shows). Here is Dave Rainey in his awesome and faithful jeep, guiding us around the back roads east of Reno for a ride to benefit BlueRibbon Coalition.  We had 13 rigs with a bunch of great folks having fun. One of my favorite rigs was this 1980 CJ-5 rigged to the hilt, with everything a wheeler might need, to include the paddles if you get caught up the proverbial creek.  LOL Marty Galantuomini is the owner and his Detroit set up jeep let no obstacle slow him down. The trail ride is Tuesday of the Expo week in Reno.,  Then the big show runs from Friday though Sunday. Get a ticket and learn more at www.lockettshows.com Next stop: Moab, UT for the Easter Safari.

IS NEVADA READY FOR STATEWIDE GROUP?

Nevada is a current hot bed of landuse intrigue...is it time for statewide communications and coordination? Wilderness; endangered species; road closures; and more continue to pop up in this great state. Yet from my research and checking around, there is no one group orchestrating the overall strategy to fight back and make a solid future for motorized recreation. If I am wrong, please point me in the right direction. If I am right, let's talk about what we can do about it. BlueRibbon Coalition has helped with several efforts over the years, all the way back to the start of the Travel Management Rule when BRC and ORBA were helping several clubs and groups get organized. I've talked to several NV folks and the thinking is that there should be a statewide multiple-use group (all sports). Other folks have mentioned bringing back another NV United for the 4x4 folks and letting the ATV folks build their own group. Of course, rock hounding and hunting/fishing are two huge sports th...

TDS A HUGE SUCCESS; TAP TOUR III

TIERRA DEL SOL CLUB GETS IT DONE AGAIN TDS Desert Safari was a huge success again....over 1700 registered vehicles and over $160,000 in raffle prizes, with each prize package worth over $1000.  Thousands of folks were in the raffle audience.  It was amazing.  The weather held out pretty good for the most part.  But it is the desert, so there was a little wind here and there.  On the other hand, we also got sun burnt.  :) We set up a "landuse compound" not far from the vendor show with United Four Wheel Drive Association, BlueRibbon Coalition, Calif. Assoc. of 4Wheel Drive Clubs and the Access Army all together.  It was a lot of fun with many hours of landuse talks and strategizing. Stacie found a new "toy" that we brought home -- a 1972 Jeep Commando in marvelous shape, with an AMC V-8 304. Power steering and power brakes too.  Sweet.  It was quite the draw at the booth. Next up for us is Cabela's Spring show and the Reno Off Roa...
