30x30 INITIATIVE TO CONSERVE 30% OF AMERICA BY 2030

30x30 INITIATIVE – AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL 4-Step Call to Action to Assure Motorized Recreation By Del Albright INTRO: The Biden Administration's pledge to conserve 30% of America's land and waterways by 2030 is undoubtedly one of the biggest and strongest environmental actions in recent history that could negatively affect motorized recreation. Land use advocate Del Albright summarizes what this means and what we need to do with a 4-step call to action for you to be the eyes and ears. DETAILS Known as the America the Beautiful Plan, America the Beautiful, or the 30x30 Plan, this effort (Executive Order N-82-20) will supposedly protect biodiversity, head off some mass extinctions, and help prevent the economic disasters predicted by some scientists associated with climate change. But, as with most media-enhanced programs, this is couched in "climate fix" and global warming. It's hard to argue with that wording. It is hard to argue with the goals of conservation,...

These natural monuments are just one example of the many backcountry treasures waiting to be discovered across this great country. Did you know a saguaro cactus can live up to 200 years, grow as many as 25 arms, and tip the scales at 6 tons? It’s a living legacy of resilience and survival in some of the harshest terrain imaginable. And it reminds me just how vital it is that we protect the natural and cultural wonders we encounter on the trail. From the deserts of Arizona to the alpine lakes of the Sierra, the historic mining roads of the Rockies to the deep conifer forests of the Pacific Northwest—there are treasures around every bend. B...
